Agoraphobia

Agoraphobia

di Ruggero Goldoni (Autore)

ENGLISH VERSION - How many of us have questioned, at least once in our lives, the veracity of our surroundings, experiencing that strange feeling of living in a dream? How many times have we wondered whether we should listen to our intuitions or simply ignore them? And how many times have we doubted whether our choices and actions are truly free or whether, instead, we are cogs in a more complex mechanism, a hidden legacy of our mind? The same questions plague Nadia, confined to her flat, suspended between reality and illusion. An old typewriter becomes the medium through which she faces and archives her deepest fears. The fragile thread that binds her to a semblance of stability is her love for Lorena, a fascinating and enigmatic woman, the embodiment of her every desire. However, the precarious balance Nadia has painstakingly built is destined to collapse with the arrival of Nikola, a man determined to win Lorena back and reveal to Nadia the truth about their past and the torment that has marked their love.Nikola recounts a time long ago, during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, when his love for Lorena drove him to defend her at any cost, even at the cost of his own life. Despite the atrocities suffered, their bond survived the horror of the conflict, continuing to pulsate through the years. And, as her stories unfold, Nadia finds herself experiencing a series of disturbing déja vu, fragments of a past that does not belong to her but which sweeps overher like a wave. As that painful past resurfaces, she is drawn into a labyrinth of doubts that threaten to compromise her sanity. As buried secrets come to light, she is forced to confront an increasingly elusive reality, where every shadow conceals unbearable truths and every revelation pushes her dangerously towards the abyss of madness. ‘AGORAPHOBIA’ is a psycho-noir drama that explores the darkest recesses of the human mind. weaving a compelling plot of love, obsession and illusions. A novel in which the line between the real and the imaginary thins until it dissolves, dragging the reader into a whirlpool of emotions that will keep him/her in suspense until the last page.
