Alberto Monte is an inspector and his career is finally taking a turn. He managed to arrest a notorious thief and drug dealer who had been terrorizing the Benetife neighborhood for almost three years, but that's not all: his boss has just promised him a promotion. What he has to do is frame another criminal who is giving the authorities a hard time. His modus operandi is particular, because it seems that behind his actions there are messages, that the thefts he commits are not limited only to the accumulation of goods. Alberto will have to try to understand his psychology, anticipate his moves and keep the population safe. But he will also have to deal with his personal life that sometimes seems to fall into an abyss, try to understand what is really important in life and make sure that the days no longer slip away from his hands.
