Querido Lobo… his life and magic love

I read and reread the last book I wrote... My heartfelt dedication to you, dearest Lobo. How I longed to start a story solely for you, my beloved Lobetto, piccolo ometto (little man) In a way, it's also a tender tribute to the memory of Giovanni Rosa, an extraordinary elderly man who accompanied us on our journeys, sharing in our victories and our moments of glory. Perhaps he was in love with me, though I never knew for sure... I always considered him a dear friend, but one day he said to me, "I envy Lobo... You will never remarry... He is the great love of your life, and no man can compete with the bond you two share." That was when I truly understood his feelings, and shortly afterward, he confessed to me that back in 1994, just a few weeks before the European Championship in Portugal, he had lost you, Lobetto... Giovanni had stepped out of the car to smoke yet another cigarette.
